Installation Couldn't Be Easier

Step 1:

Locate the shut-off valve, before the water meter, on the city side of your water meter.

Turn the water off.

If you have a shut-off valve after the water meter, turn it off as well.

Step 2:

If you didn't have a shut-off valve after the water meter, on your property side, take a moment to go turn on the tap at your kitchen sink.

Run the water until it stops then turn your kitchen tap off.

This step clears your water line so you don't get wet when you open your water line.

Step 3:

Locate the union/fitting that screws onto the property side of the water meter.

Using a pipe wrench, unscrew the union/fitting.

A little water may drip out when you losen it off.

Step 4:

Once you have unscrewed the union/fitting from the meter, there may be a washer inside. If so, remove it but keep it close.

Insert your WATERGATER valve into the open water line.

Replace the washer back into the water line, ontop of the WATERGATER valve.

Step 5:

Tighten the union/fitting back onto the water meter. It is a good idea to do a couple wraps around the fitting threads with a plumbers tape, to ensure a great seal.

Step 6:

This last step is VERY important.

SLOWLY turn your water back on.

If you simply crank the water back on full really quick you may shock your pipes which can cause seals to burst and joints to leak.

Congratulations you are done!!!
